Repairs
At Shana Kroiz Jewelry, each piece is handcrafted using high quality materials and traditional fabrication techniques. Jewelry is inherently delicate and naturally evolves with wear over time. While we do not offer a formal warranty, we are committed to supporting the long term care and repair of our work whenever possible.
Handcrafted Variations
Each piece is handmade and may include slight variations in shape, texture, finish, or stone placement. These characteristics are part of the design and are not considered defects.
Wear & Aging
All jewelry changes over time with regular wear. Surface scratches, scuffs, patina, oxidation, softened edges, and gradual metal wear are natural signs of use and are not considered defects.
Prong, pavé, and stone settings are not likely to but may loosen over time through everyday wear or impact. We recommend periodic inspection and maintenance to help preserve the integrity of your piece.
18k Vermeil Finish: Wear & Expectations
Pieces finished in 18k gold vermeil feature a thick layer of gold over copper. Like all plated finishes, the surface will naturally evolve with time and wear.
Normal wear for vermeil may include:
- Gradual softening or fading of the gold surface
- Exposure of the underlying copper in high contact areas
- Surface scratches and abrasions
- Slight tonal shifts caused by skin chemistry or environmental exposure
The rate of wear may increase with:
- Water or moisture exposure
- Contact with lotions, perfumes, or chemicals
- Friction from daily activities
- Individual skin pH and natural oils
These changes are considered a natural part of the life of the piece.
Replating & Refinishing Services
18k vermeil surfaces will gradually soften and show signs of wear through regular use. Oxidized silver finishes will also naturally shift and fade over time, developing subtle variations through contact, handling, and exposure.
We are happy to refinish vermeil and restore oxidized patinas on Shana Kroiz Jewelry pieces whenever possible. Refinishing, replating, and shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility. We do our best to keep these services reasonably priced. Final costs depend on the current cost of materials, labor, and shipping at the time of service.
